about rafa peletey

Musician
I've started playing guitar at the age of 7, and later studied classical music in Paris. I've preformed live for the first time at 10, playing my own compositions. I have been part of numerous bands of very different styles (rock, pop, jazz, chill-out, house, etc) as a bass player, guitarist, keyboardist or singer. I have been the support artist for people like Al Jarreau, Lou Reed or The Christians, and I've played the bass with Eric Burdon (The Animals). I'm also an ambient and deep house artist featuring on dozens of compilations (under different aliases, such as

dotcom, Funkyjack,La Mecanica,Cloudfish and others)and I have composed and produced music for short films. I'm also a resident singer and performer of the Teatro Pereira in Ibiza, and regarding the island, I have performed on places like Pacha, El Divino, DC10, Savannah, Mambo, Bay Bar Cafe, etc.
Producer
Initiated to the new musical technologies in the middle of the eighties, I have developed an intensive activity in this field, realizing arrangements and compositions for various artists and productions.
These activities have headed me naturaly to the production, labor that I'm carrying out since the early nineties.
Collaborations
For several years I have teamed with Steve Norman, founder member of the eighties band Spandau Ballet, realizing with him several productions and compositions. Funkyjack and Cloudfish (later joined by vocalist Shelley Preston) are two of the aliases that we had adopted. The compilation CD "A journey through Savannah"(island pulse records) is one of our most recent publication.

I have collaborated with DJ Carlos Diaz (Zenith Ibiza) realizing and producing with him several tracks, being the maxi "Ladies in the night" (DJ beats) one of our most significant release.
I have also worked with the legendary DJ pioneer Alfredo.

Currently, I'm co-producing with Steve Norman the italian group Quintessenza, a quintet of nice looking girls who plays classical chill-pop music. The CD should be finished by the end of the year.

The "Quintessenza" album, wich I have produced and arranged with Steve Norman has been mixed by Lucca Vittori, one of the top italians engineers. The mixing CV of Lucca features the multi platinum Alejandro Sanz's "Corazon partio" or works of Miguel Bosé, Marta Sanchez or Paulina Rubio, between many others. The CD has been mastered in London by top mastering engineer Tim Young. Needless to say that the resulting CD have a very pleasent sound.
I have just finished the production and recording of a "relaxation" CD. Published by Island Pulse Records, "Relajación guiada" will be on the spanish shops in the very near future. More on that very soon.
"Live smooth lounge music" is the name of the live performance of bassofondo, which are currently in the last state of production. For professional booking enquiries, please contact us through any of the ways you will find in our contact page.
